About Karen

I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW)in both Kentucky and Indiana. I received my undergraduate degrees from Illinois State University in Psychology and French. I went on to pursue my master’s degree (MSSW) at the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work. I have been working with children and families for over ten years and providing therapy since 2013. I gained the majority of my experience working at a local non-profit with children and families who had experienced trauma and loss often as the result of a crime. I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), childhood traumatic grief (CTG), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches.

The creation of a more peaceful and happier society has to begin from the level of the individual, and from there it can expand to one's family, to one's neighborhood, to one's community and so on.
